Golden-crowned Kinglet (life-size) The Golden-crowned Kinglet is one of my favorite birds. The weather here in Delaware last year was particularly warm for the first two weeks of January. While I was working in the studio, I noticed a flock of Golden-crowned Kinglets outside the studio window. About a dozen of them were combing one of the maple trees for bugs. I didn’t get much work done for watching the Kinglets. The flock hung around for several days until the weather turned colder. I was sorry to see them go, but my productivity increased after they left! It was several days before the impressions left from my binoculars departed as well!
This little Kinglet is made of tupelo wood and acrylic paint.
