Blue-grey Gnatcatcher (life-size)

  The delightful little Gnatcatcher is a very animated little bird, flitting around from branch to branch. Seeing the Blue-grey Gnatcatcher in the wild is a wonderful experience - his enthusiasm is almost contagious!  The first time I saw this little fellow was on a walk through a New Jersey nature center’s trails. I was doing an art show at the nature center which was held during Mother’s Day weekend. The Mother’s Day gift that I got was the appearance of a jaunty little Gnatcatcher exploring the world! 

This little Gnatcatcher is made of tupelo wood and acrylic paints. The base I turned for this piece is walnut wood.
